Volunesia

(noun)

The moment when you forget you are volunteering to help transform lives,

because it is transforming yours...

The talented and dedicated volunteers of Let’s Imagine are it’s pulse. Many of our volunteers travel across the world to serve youth by teaching them life skills through yoga and the arts. We seek individuals that align with our mission, to inspire and educate the whole child; to promote their well-being and to step into their role as caretakers of this planet.

Since our Bali project began in 2018, we have had 3 yoga camp sessions and 12 volunteers from 6 different countries travel to Lovina, North Bali, to establish our first international yoga camp with Bali Children Foundation. Lorena Santacruz, Yoga Teacher and Health Coach, volunteered in the very first session back in June. She described her experience as, “priceless and life changing,” especially when she got to, “connect with the children and witness them let loose and have fun.” Our goal is to instill a working knowledge of the wisdom and teachings of yoga through asana (postures), pranayama (breath work), meditation and fun. In addition, the older kids dove into yoga philosophy by unpacking the Yamas and Niyamas, the first two limbs of the 8 Limbs of Yoga.

Let’s Imagine has designed a Y.A.E. Curriculum, which blends yoga, art and earth education. The curriculum is broken down into three trimesters, each composing of two modules. Each module differs slightly for the younger and older groups of children.

As a Seva Yoga Teacher, “seva” meaning selfless service, we ask volunteers be Registered Yoga Teachers with up to date teaching insurance. The responsibilities include participating in Let’s Imagine oriented community service, brainstorming with directors about ideas and projects at least once a month, and having a steady home practice of their own. It is optional to participate in programs, events and retreats around the world to aid in creating and sustaining our mission.

Our curriculum is carefully constructed with the needs of the children in mind. Our intention and purpose transcends cultural barriers and creates community among the participants. November volunteer, Curt Bean, loved how the children “were present and engaged the entire camp.” The children demonstrated a true interest and connection to the content we brought them. We are always looking for our volunteers to offer input on ways we can enhance our already comprehensive lessons.

If you are a self motivated, nurturing, heart centered individual with the passion to change the lives of youth on a global scale, then Let’s Imagine wants to support you in making that purpose a reality. Here at Let’s Imagine, we have a symbiotic relationship with the volunteers where we provide harmony and balance that can only be achieved by working together. Please visit our “Volunteer” tab on our website to learn more about opportunities and contact us with any questions.

Happy Holidays to you and yours.
