Pankh - The creative School in Rishikesh, India
PANKH – The Creative School provides FREE Education, Stationery, Books, Uniform, Shoes and School Bags to 150 Slum Children.
Let's Imagine was able to connect with the Pankh - Creative School in Rishikesh when the Let's Imagine founder, Kimberly, was volunteering in Rishikesh after she completed her 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at a local academy.
With the help of our supporters, Let's Imagine was able to donate $300 to the Pankh - Creative School to help them keep their inspiring work running.

PROGRESS REPORT – AUG to NOV ‘ 2017
All the Students of PANKH – The Creative School have regular EVENT
CELEBRATIONS, FOOD & CLOTHING apart from EDUCATION
We have introduced a SPECIAL FOUNDATION Course for the students who are
lagging behind in studies.
1. During this period, PANKH – The Creative School has started a new Junior
Wing for Play Group, Pre-Foundation and Foundation Students.
2. PANKH – The Creative School also has a new Kitchen for the students which
provides them food from time to time.
3. We have 2 new Helpers for the Junior Wing.
4. Finally, the PANKH building has 2 new Computers and Wi-Fi for the Students.
The students can now easily work on their Projects.
5. Many students are already receiving training in Professional YOGA and have
also participated in State Level Championship Programs.
6. We have installed Cameras and Audio Visual Aids for the students.
7. PANKH – The Creative School now has an enriched Library with lots of story
and Reference Books. In the session 2018-19, we would take our Library and
Academic Standards to the next level.
8. This session, we have replaced some of the teachers with better and more
9. PANKH – The Creative School has a small Children’s Bank in which they are
learning all the BANKING FUNCTIONS. They also create small deposits which
help them to buy stuff for themselves.
10. From this Session, we have introduced VEDIC MATHEMATICS. The senior
students have learnt to work on MS WORD, EXCEL & POWERPOINT.
Accessibility to the net has helped them in the process of Self Learning and

PANKH celebrated Janmashthami in a grand way.
Janmashthami is the birth of Lord Krishna.
There was a Cultural Program in which many students participated. There were 4 Skits
and 8 Group Dances performed by the students of PANKH. The program was attended
by more than 120 guests. All the costumes and make up was provided by the school.
The groups with the best performances were awarded Prizes.
15th August 2017:
PANKH – The Creative School had gala Independence Day
Celebrations. In the morning at 9.00 am, there was flag Hoisting. This was followed by
an Inter House – Speaking Competition. The Students spoke on various topics such as
‘SAVE WATER’, ‘EDUCATE THE GIRL CHILD’ and on the ‘IMPORTANCE OF TREES’.
There was distribution of food items to the children and the meritorious students
5th September 2017:
PANKH celebrated TEACHERS DAY. The students prepared Greeting Cards for their
teachers. There was thanksgiving and also a photo-session that all the students had
with their class teachers.
During the month of September, there was a fresh round of distribution of Stationery to
15th September 2017:
The senior Students of PANKH – The Creative prepared a Project on SOCIAL &
COMMERCIAL ADVERTISING. The main theme of the Project was to highlight the
social causes which have a strong impact on the lives of common people.
2nd October 2017:
2nd October is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti in India. Mahatma Gandhi is the Father of
the Nation. The students had a fancy dress Competition. They also enacted plays on the
life of Gandhi. At the end of the program, refreshments were distributed to all the

DUSSHERA & DIWALI CELEBRATIONS at School
Dusshera and Diwali are the main festivals in India. It signifies the victory of good over
evil. The students had a Rangoli Competition at School. Rangoli is a floral design made
on the floor with the help of Organic Colours. The students were extremely creative.
The students enacted the full RAMAYAN – The story of the life of Lord Ram with very colourful costumes provided by the school. Diwali was also celebrated with a lot of
sweets, music and dances. The students were also provided Food/Refreshements.
25th October 2017:
There was a special Geography Workshop for the classes V, VI & VII of PANKH – The
Creative School. The students were taught about the various countries of EUROPE
and their Culture. The students also prepared a Powerpoint Presentation on
EUROPE and its important countries. It is great to see that the students have
developed some knowledge about different countries and people of the world.
14th November 2017:
14th November is celebrated as Children’s Day in India.
On this day, all the students received:
(i) New Clothes in which they all looked very attractive
(ii) & Lunch (which they really enjoyed)
There was a picnic in the midst of nature, and a lot of fun activities including
Dances were organized for the kids. The boys had a cricket match.
20th November 2017:
DISTRIBUTION OF WINTER CLOTHES
It is getting quite cold in Rishikesh (INDIA) hence the students were provided
(i) New Dark Green Sweaters
(ii) New pair of socks
(iii) Jackets, Woolens and Blankets for home – wear
21 st November 2017
The students were given Free VACCINATION for Rubella and Malaria on behalf of the
Health Ministry. This is a step towards the prevention of diseases.
THE HALF- YEARLY EXAMS HAVE NOW COMMENCED & THE PROGRESS OF THE
STUDENTS LOOKS TO BE SATISFACTORY!!!!
